Canberra, ACT:
The last week of 2014 is here!  We celebrated with a trip to Thredbo and climbed Mount Kosciuszko - Australia's highest mountain - beautiful views but it was much colder than we thought!  To celebrate NYE we drove to Sydney and stayed with our good friends, Chris & Sarah and their boys, Morgan & Rhett.   We watched the children's fireworks at 9pm and the kids had a ball playing in the dark with glow bracelets and necklaces and glow swords!   A great way to end the year.

Canberra, ACT:
The magical week of Christmas!  To celebrate we had dinner in the city and looked at all the pretty Christmas lights and had a ride on the merry go round which Jake and Amber loved.   On Christmas Eve we drove to Mount Ainslie lookout and watched kangaroos and rabbits hop around whilst planes took off and landed.  We then came home to leave reindeer food on our lawn and biscuits and milk for Santa.  Finally Christmas morning came!  Thankfully Jake lasted until 6am and was super excited to see that Santa had been and there were lots of wrapped presents around the tree.   Amber very quickly got the idea of opening presents and soon our living room was one big mess!  After a big seafood lunch (as you do in hot Australia at Christmas time) we rode bikes and played frisbee by the lake.  Here are some photos from our day:

Canberra, ACT:
Tis the holiday season!   School holidays and Christmas celebrations are in full swing.   To celebrate the first week of holidays, we visited the massive trampoline in the city called Flip Out which was lots of fun, we danced like crazy elves to Christmas music, we visited Santa (although Amber talked to him she did not want to sit near the "scary" man) and we played with friends.    Here are some photos from our week:

Canberra, ACT:
The summer holidays are here!   Jake had a busy last week of term culminating with his school Christmas concert which they had been practising for all term.   They all sang beautifully and it was the most still I have ever seen them all.  Amazing what can be achieved.   It was sad saying goodbye to the ELC and and Pre Prep S.   Next year their classes will change and they will all move up to the "big"  Junior School for their first year of Prep (kindergarten), which is exciting too.  Here are some pictures from Jake's school concert.  Jake was also lucky enough to have a weekend in Sydney and a sleepover with Morgan to celebrate Morgan's dad's (Jake's Godfather) big birthday "Hawaii 5-0" party.

Canberra, ACT:
Last week we said summer is coming and it has come!  We had our first 37C day.  Luckily we had been forewarned and I had some cool activities planned.  We visited Question (our national science and technology centre) in the morning where Jake and Amber enjoyed playing with the water features and indoor play area and we all enjoyed the air con.   We also spent a lot of time in the pool with both Jake and Amber having swim lessons and also friends over to play in our pool.   On a 37C day the pool is the best place to be!

Canberra, ACT:
We are roller coasting towards the end of school term on 5th December (so soon!) and there are lots of activities happening right now.   We had a Pre Prep end of term play date at the new Boundless Playground where the boys loved the water fountain features.  We are having some 30+C days and  icy pops are in high demand.   There are Christmas concert rehearsals, dinners have already started and there are lots of birthday parties to add to the mix.  Summer and Christmas are coming!

Wynnewood, PA:
We took a weekend trip to Brooklyn to celebrate Brennan's 1st birthday. I'm grateful we were there to celebrate her special day and to take in the end of fall in our favorite city.
Mother and Daughter (and cousin Luke) blow out the candles.
Walking the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with Jesse and Leo.
Sunday morning stroll to the New York Transit Museum.
